TNPSC Group 4 Syllabus – Download TNPSC Group-IV Tamil Syllabus 2018 & Detailed Exam Pattern – The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is a department in the Government of Tamil Nadu which has been mandated with the responsibility of recruiting personnel for the various positions within the state government. Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is also notably the oldest public service commission in the country tracing back its history to colonial times when it was known as the Madras Service Commission. Today the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission functions as a constitutional body and performs essential tasks in the government recruitment process. Apart from the actual process of recruitment by conducting examinations and interviews, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission also has the duty of framing the principles that will determine how the appointments, promotions and transfers are made for service members in the Tamil Nadu State government. The recruitment that is conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is divided into 4 tiers. Well the tier 1 or group 1 recruitment is for the highest level of positions which require a high level of expertise and educational qualifications, the lower tiers or groups are in decreasing order of position and qualification requirements. Among these groups the group 4 recruitment pertains to various clerical positions such as steno typist, clerk, junior assistant, field surveyor, bill collector et cetera. The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission yearly conducts recruitment for huge number of posts at the level of Tier 4 or Group 4. This exam is committee popularly known as the combined group 4 Services Exam.
