AP EAMCET Article Starts – AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) is an entrance exam conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) under direct authority from Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) of the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh. The previously united state of Andhra Pradesh had its common entrance test conducted by JNTUH until its bifurcation in 2014. Post bifurcation, the task of conducting this prestigious exam has been delegated to JNTU Kakinada, which has been quite efficient in its duty so far. JNTUK , being the second largest Technological University in the country has close to 275 Affiliated colleges under it, offering a sundry of courses in popular fields such as Engineering, Pharmacy and Management. Previously a part of JNTU , it got separated in 2008 and transformed into a top class university churning out thousands of professional engineers every year through its campus. Right from the beginning, the university has spared no effort in building an effective and well structured examination system to ably conduct AP EAMCET examination. Following in the foot steps of JNTUH, JNTUK has brought in significant changes into the examination structure and evaluation. A few examples of these measures include total digitalization, timely declaration of results and release of OMR sheets on to the web.

AP EAMCET was made completely online to make it trouble free and to bring in a much needed change in terms of transparency. The application procedure and the examination which is held online required that the students gain a basic understanding of the operation of a computer, which has become a common practice nowadays. The governing body hosted a website – http://sche.ap.gov.in/EAMCET/ for the sole purpose of providing all necessary information under a common umbrella for the benefit of all students appearing for the AP EAMCET. The website houses information regarding every aspect including application process, Hall ticket download, Notification , Important Dates, Corrections, Syllabus, Original question paper &key and Rank Card Downloads. This highly competitive exam is held for 3 hours testing the student’s in depth understanding of his core subjects relevant to his chosen stream.

A total of 160 questions are to be answered, each carrying a positive mark without negative marking. Each question is of a Multiple Choice Type divided into three different sections. Almost all under graduate students from the state of AP attempt this exam to attempt to gain admission into prestigious institutions in the state. This makes it highly competitive and difficult to crack for an average student. It is estimated that a total of 2 lakh students take this exam after Intermediate board exams and go through intensive coaching for 2 years to secure a good rank. Experts suggest that students take numerous practice tests and solve previous year question papers to understand the level and difficulty of the questions. This would enable them to gain on speed and grasp the trend of question pattern, thus helping them score better and secure top ranks in the exam.
